Understanding LEED Building Design and Construction: LEEDAP Exam Preparation

Dates/Time: Thursdays; February 28 and March 1, 2013 Two/Four-hour sessions: 8 a.m. - 12 noon
Location: White-Spunner Construction, 2010 W. I-65 Service Rd. S., Mobile, AL
Course Description: This two-part, eight hour workshop provides essential knowledge of the LEED BD+C rating systems, including credit intents, requirements and referenced standards; synergies among credits; and the LEED certification process. This course provides a foundation for pursuing the LEED AP BD+C exam.
Who Should Attend & Why: Architects, real estate professionals, facility managers, engineers, interior designers, landscape architects, construction managers, lenders and government officials, all use LEED to transform the built environment. Design & construction students would benefit from attending, as well.
Course Prerequisites: Previous general green building knowledge is helpful. It is recommended, yet not required to have previously completed the LEED 201: Core Concepts & Strategies course.
Continuing Education Credits: 7 AIA/CES, 7 BOMA, 7 CoreNet, 0.7 CSI, 7 LEED Specific CE's

Offered in conjunction with Auburn University and the AL Chapter of the USGBC. Watershed will provide hands on basic training in energy efficient operations to school children, teachers, and administrators from four public schools across Alabama. The "green teams" will be coached throughout the 2012-2013 school year to assess and improve their school's use of water, energy, and reduce waste.

Featuring Edwin Marty, founder of Jones Valley Urban Farm. This is the first event of the Ripple Effects Spring Seminar Series at the Windmill Market, organized by Watershed Green Consulting and Education. Come hear the Founder of Alabama's most successful Urban Garden, share the story of Jones Valley Urban Farm. Edwin Marty began urban in 2001 as a part time endeavor with local public school children. Since then, JVUF has has grown to include over 28 acres of urban farm land, employs 20 people, and teaches thousands of youth each year about growing and eating good food.
