Faulkner State Community College’s Memorial Hall on their Bay Minette campus achieved LEED certification in the fall of 2013.
Designed by Walcott Adams Verneuille, 33% of the building materials are recycled, and another 22% were sourced from within 500 miles. The landscape can absorb and filter 55,000 gallons of storm water in a storm event, over 37,000 gallons more than it was able to absorb and filter pre-development. Indoor water use has been reduced by 34%, saving a projected 98,820 gallons annually.
White-Spunner Construction built the facility and was able to recycle almost 3/4 of their construction waste: 164 tons total.
