Natural Awakenings Magazine Profiles the Gulf Coast Center for Ecotourism
The feature story in Natural Awakenings’ July issue delves into how the Center highlights the deep connections between ecological health and economic health.
The 13-acre campus of The Gulf Coast Center for Ecotourism and Sustainability is surrounded by more than 60 acres of protected wetlands. It was envisioned as a “sustainability camp” for the region – a living classroom designed to model sustainable development along the Alabama Gulf Coast.
“The root word of ecology is ‘eco,’ or home,” said Watershed principal Rebecca Dunn Bryant in the story. “We hope visitors take away a new appreciation for the Gulf Coast and become stewards of their own habitats and communities.” Check out the story, “Building a Greener Future,” here to learn more about this living laboratory.
